Important Changes are Coming to CoachSync
Today, I’m reaching out to the CoachSync community with an important update, and I wanted to share it here for everyone to reference, because it marks a significant milestone for our journey. This is a difficult change, but it’s not an “Our Incredible Journey” post about how we got acquired and are shutting down. It’s a story about recognizing the realities of building a sustainable business in the AI space, and respecting our early users by being transparent about the challenges we faced. While this decision is heartbreaking, it’s one I believe is necessary, and I’m deeply grateful for everyone who believed in our vision.
I hope you’ll share your thoughts and experiences. Either in our Discord, or by emailing me at adam@coachsync.ai. I remain inspired by the coaches who trusted us with their programming needs.

We have an important update for the CoachSync community today: We’ll be discontinuing the CoachSync platform. In this message, we’ll explain what that means for you and what led to this decision.
On June 28, 2025, the CoachSync platform will be shut down. Your dashboard will remain available through July 15, 2025, with full access to export all of your programs, athlete data, and training history. Our sync and export integrations will continue to function but we will also be providing tools to help you download your raw data.
There are several reasons we’re making this decision now. The primary challenge has been the economics of running an AI-powered platform without venture funding. We believed deeply in bootstrapping CoachSync to maintain our independence and focus on coaches’ needs rather than investor returns. However, the reality is that AI inference costs are substantial, and without the ability to subsidize these costs through VC funding, we couldn’t find a pricing model that was both affordable for coaches and sustainable for us.
We explored various pricing tiers, from $29/month to $149/month, but each presented its own challenge. At lower price points, we’d lose money on every active user due to AI costs. At higher price points, we’d price out the very coaches we wanted to help - those just starting their businesses or working with small groups of athletes. The math simply didn’t work without compromising on quality, and we refused to deliver a subpar experience just to hit profitability targets.
Right now, our priority is taking care of everyone who trusted us during this journey. Here’s what we’re doing:
- Your CoachSync dashboard will remain fully functional through July 15, 2025
- Export tools are available immediately for all your programs, with formats compatible with TrueCoach, Excel, PDF, and Google Sheets.
- We’re preparing migration guides for TrueCoach and TrainHeroic. These features are already available but there has been a lack of documentation.
- All user data will be permanently deleted by July 31, 2025, unless you request an extended archive.
- We’re open-sourcing key components of our program generation system, so the community can benefit from what we’ve built
For our beta users who provided invaluable feedback: Thank you. Your insights shaped every feature we built, and your patience during our iteration cycles meant everything.
This is obviously not the outcome we envisioned when we started CoachSync. I know personally, it’s devastating to step back from something we poured our hearts into. Any time a platform shuts down, it disrupts workflows and requires unexpected effort to migrate. I’m deeply sorry for the inconvenience this causes, but I’m also grateful for the coaches who saw our vision and gave us a chance to prove it.
The irony isn’t lost on me that in trying to democratize AI for coaches, we discovered just how difficult it is to do so sustainably without deep pockets. Perhaps there’s a future where AI costs drop enough to make platforms like CoachSync viable as independent businesses. Until then, we hope our open-source contributions help push the industry forward.
We’ll keep updating you on the migration process, and we’ve set up a dedicated channel in our Discord for transition support. You can also reach out directly to our CTO at david@coachsync.ai.
Thank you for believing in CoachSync. While this chapter is closing, I’m excited to see how the coaching community continues to evolve and embrace technology to better serve athletes.
Stay strong,
Adam

Final Thoughts
Building CoachSync taught us invaluable lessons about the intersection of AI, coaching, and business sustainability. While we couldn’t make the economics work, we’re proud of what we built and the conversations we started about the future of coaching technology.
The dream of AI-augmented coaching remains valid and important. We hope our story helps the next generation of builders understand both the potential and the pitfalls of this space.
Thank you for being part of our journey.
